I am a lot of things to a lot of people: teacher, mom, sister, daughter, partner, friend, mentor, volunteer…the list goes on.

I realized one day that I was wishing away my one wild and precious life. I would get to work on Monday and already be counting down the wake-ups until Friday. I would have count-downs to our next vacation. I would have brief moments of being present with my family, and the rest of my life was spent trying to keep up with all of the “to-dos:” laundry, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, keeping up with work, rushing kids around to sports and activities…

I’m not sure what it was about that day, but I decided I needed to claim back my joy. Life felt overwhelming and exhausting far too often, and I wanted to be enjoying it while I was living it. I realized I was hoping to enjoy life during retirement, but y’all that was twenty years away!

The time to enjoy and live is NOW!
